Details/Specifics of Change:

During the first period of GOES-18 and GOES-17 interleave between October 14 and November 14, ABI Desert Monitoring PLT activities for GOES-18 will be ongoing. A desert monitoring calibration scan will be performed at a 6 day cadence from October 14 to November 7 and a 7 day cadence from November 7 to November 14 to correspond to the Solar calibration schedule during this time. 

 

The GOES-18 ABI Desert Monitoring Calibration scan will interrupt one 10 minute Flex Mode (Mode 6) timeline between 1900 and 2000 UTC, resulting in a 5 minute outage followed by a 5 minute Continuous Full Disk (Mode 4).
